The sheer amount of Facebook Groups out there can be daunting: It takes time and effort to sort through and figure out which groups are best for you. Understanding a bit of what happens behind the scenes in these groups can be a big step in determining if they’re right for you and your business. For those of us who find value in the community and business aspect of a Facebook Group, here are some of the greatest Facebook Groups that are currently open and accepting new members. These groups are wonderful resources to help grow your business.
Blogging Boost is run by Elizabeth Kelsey Bradley, owner of elizabethkbradley.com. One day a week, there is a self-promotion thread. You are allowed to ask questions, post introductions or participate in celebration threads at any time! There are also useful resources for finding guest posting opportunities on this Facebook Group.
At Bloggers United, you’ll find multiple promotion posts per day. This gives you the opportunity to show off and promote your content, while engaging with the other members. You’ll come across a lot of threads on tips and advice and you’re always welcome to ask a question or share your knowledge.
Bloggers Supporting Bloggers is run by Allie Barke, author of alliesfashionalley.com.
Like many other groups listed, there are specific days dedicated to what you can post. For instance, on Mondays everyone can post their most recent blog post, Tuesdays is for posting Facebook pages, and Wednesday has a unique thread each week. Often, posts are shared regarding jobs or freelance positions solely to help others out who might be looking.
Helene Sula, travel blogger at Heleneinbetween.com, is the creator of this group. This group is quite the opposite of the others, as there is no set day to post specific content. As an open group, you are able to post what you want when you want, without spamming the group. Helene creates a number of threads each week that are informative and fun to engage with.
This is a new group that I’ve joined, but I have to say that so far, I love it! Here’s a description from the group.
“The Sway Facebook group specializes in blogger education and helping influencers build online communities. We are also your go-to resource for sponsored opportunities via the Sway Dashboard. Through great conversations, rockstar (FREE!) classes, and opportunities to learn from one another, this community will help you define your business and succeed in the online world.” – The Sway Facebook Group Description
Created by Eden Fried of edenfried.com. Her story is pretty interesting: She was all set to attend law school, but quit to become a full-time blogger. She is very involved in the group and definitely keeps the engagement flowing. Blogger Insights is an active group that provides access to a good amount of free resources.
If you are just starting out, this is a great group to join! Nicole Floss hosts Blogging 101, a group with over 15,000 members. There is a constant stream of questions & answers throughout the group, so feel free to toss your inquiries out there! Blogging 101 is a welcoming community that can give you the tools you need to get started.
This is mine and it’s brand new! I created this group for Creative Entrepreneurs to discuss our journeys with blogging, growing a business and helping each other build our own online communities. Open to beginners, successful bloggers/business owners, and those in between! Request to join here!
While it can be tempting to join as many groups as possible, it’s probably better to see which groups are the best fit for you and your business, and move forward with those groups only. A higher number of members doesn’t always make a group better. Be selective with the groups you choose and you’ll have better luck finding like-minded business owners that will help you reach your goals. Hope to see you out there!
